Before you come to visit your family member or friend, please check the visiting hours to ensure you are able to come in and spend time with your loved one.

Daily visiting hours and rules are established for the comfort and safety of your loved ones, as well as for other patients in the hospital. We welcome visitors and realize that you are integral to the patient's recovery. Your adherence to our visiting guidelines will assist us in doing the best job we can to help your loved one recover.


General Visiting Hours (WEEKDAYS)
 15:00 – 16:00 and 19:00 – 20:00

Sundays and Public holidays
11:00 – 12:00, 15:00 – 16:00 & 19:00 – 20:00

General Ward Visiting

  • Only two visitors are allowed at a patient’s bedside at a time. Please limit your visit to **5 to 10 minutes.
  • When you are unwell, kindly postpone your visit.

Maternity Visiting

  • Fathers or a designated support person may visit from 07:00 to 20:00 unless a special arrangement is made with the hospital staff.
  • Siblings of all ages may visit.
  • All visitors, including children, must be healthy with no rashes, infections, colds, running nose, diarrhoea or recent exposure to infectious diseases.

Paediatric Visiting

  • Parents are encouraged to be at their child’s bedside round the clock.
  • Recliner seats are available for parents who want to stay overnight in their child's cubicle.
  • Siblings may visit during visiting times if they do not have symptoms of a cold or other respiratory infection
  • Two visitors at any time are allowed.
  • Children love gifts, but please do not bring sweets.
  • The parents or the nursing supervisor must approve gifts or food.
  • When you are unwell, kindly postpone your visit.

High Care Unit (ICU) visiting

  • Visitors must be 12 years or older.
  • Visitors are permitted from 15:00-16:00 and 19:00 – 20:00 daily.
  • Two visitors are allowed at a time for 5-10 minutes during visiting times.
  • Please call from the reception before you come to the unit to make sure you are not interrupting patient care procedures.
  • Food is not allowed in the High Care and Intensive Care Unit waiting area.
  • When you are unwell, kindly postpone your visit.

Neonatal Intensive Care visiting

  • Parents are considered an integral part of the caring team, therefore they are not restricted to visiting hours.
  • Grandparents may visit with the parent’s approval.
  • No other visitors are allowed in NICU.
  • All parents must wash their hands upon entry into the unit and on exit.
  • Siblings older than 12 years are welcome to visit. The younger ones (under 12yrs) may only visit under extreme circumstances. This reduces the exposure to childhood illnesses.
  • When you are unwell, kindly postpone your visit.

Patient Telephone Hours

  • If you wish to receive or make calls form the bedside telephone hand set, please ask the nurse on duty for assistance.


  • Cooked food from home or fast food outlets is prohibited. Discuss the patient’s preferences on admission. The catering team will prepare medically recommended meals during hospitalization.

Extra Goods

  • Please keep personal belongings to a minimum. Kindly consult the nursing team for anything extra you would like to bring from home.
